Creative Marketing & Content Strategist

We’re looking for a sharp, strategic content builder to own and evolve our content engine - someone who thinks in categories, edits AI with taste, and knows how to make a brand show up where it matters: in search, in AI-powered discovery, and in the minds of the people we’re trying to reach.

This role sits at the intersection of creative strategy, SEO/AEO expertise, and AI-native execution. Your north star: building Semos Cloud into the defining voice in the People & Culture space.

What You’ll Do

Own the Content Engine

  • Build and execute content across the full funnel - blogs, case studies, newsletters, landing pages, social, PR with a clear strategy behind every piece.

  • Manage the content calendar with an editorial mindset: the right story, the right format, the right moment.

  • Audit and optimise our existing content library before adding new - find the gaps, fix the weak spots, double down on what works.

Lead SEO & AEO Strategy

  • Drive organic visibility through rigorous on-page SEO, content clustering, and topical authority - not just keyword targeting.

  • Own our Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) strategy: structure content to surface in AI Overviews, Perplexity, SearchGPT, and featured snippets.

  • Understand how LLMs discover and cite content - and build a content programme that earns that visibility.


Drive Backlink Strategy & Digital PR

  • Develop and execute a link-building and digital PR strategy rooted in original research, data studies, expert commentary, and strategic partnerships - not spray-and-pray outreach.

  • Build relationships with HR tech publications, People & Culture communities, and industry analysts to earn high-authority backlinks that reinforce topical credibility.

  • Understand the link between backlink profiles and AI source credibility - content that is widely cited and linked to tends to surface more frequently in LLM-generated answers.

  • Track referring domain quality, link velocity, and anchor text distribution as part of an integrated SEO reporting framework.

Build a Category in People & Culture

  • Map the content landscape in HR tech and People & Culture - identify the angles competitors aren’t owning.

  • Develop a point of view and content programme that positions Semos Cloud as the go-to reference in this space.

  • Think like a media company, not just a marketing team.

Direct AI, Don’t Just Use It

  • Use AI as a force multiplier - but bring the editorial judgment to know when output is sharp vs. generic.

  • Build and refine prompting workflows that maintain brand voice and quality at scale.

  • Experiment with new AI-native formats and distribution channels.

Thought Leadership & Advocacy

  • Partner with executives and subject matter experts to turn their expertise into market-shaping content.

  • Run our employee advocacy programme and equip our people to amplify the brand authentically.

  • Lead social channel strategy with a focus on reach, relevance, and community.

Own Content Distribution & Amplification

  • Go beyond publish-and-pray: develop a repeatable distribution playbook that includes social media promotion, paid amplification, syndication partnerships, community seeding, and email nurture sequences.

  • Identify and activate the channels where People & Culture decision-makers actually consume content - not just the obvious ones.

  • Align with demand generation campaigns to ensure high-value content is supported with targeted promotion budgets where it makes sense.

Define & Own the Measurement Framework

  • Own the content reporting cadence: track both leading indicators (rankings, share of voice, AI citation frequency, referring domains) and lagging indicators (MQLs, pipeline influence, conversion rates).

  • Monitor competitive and AI citation intelligence - track where competitors earn citations in AI tools, which queries they’re winning, and where Semos Cloud is mentioned or absent in LLM outputs.

  • Make data-informed decisions about what to double down on, what to sunset, and where to experiment - report clearly to leadership on content’s contribution to business outcomes.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Cross-collaborate with Marketing Team, Product, Sales, and HR to align content with business goals.

  • Support the team with building high-impact newsletters that grow our subscriber base and engage audiences.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in content strategy in B2B SaaS or HR tech - you’ve built something, not just maintained it.

  • Deep fluency in SEO (technical basics, topical authority, content architecture) and AEO - you understand how both traditional and AI-powered search discovery work.

  • Backlink & digital PR experience: you’ve earned links through original research, expert placements, and partnerships -not just guest post exchanges. You can speak to how link equity supports both search rankings and AI source credibility.

  • Strong editorial instincts - you can take an AI draft and know exactly what’s missing, what’s flat, and what needs a human edge.

  • Strategic thinker who can identify white space and build a content category, not just fill a calendar.

  • Comfortable with data and measurement: you can build a reporting framework, tie content to pipeline metrics, and explain what’s working (and why) to leadership.

  • Distribution-minded: you think about how content gets seen, not just how it gets made. You have experience with paid amplification, syndication, and community-based distribution.

  • A portfolio that shows range - from thought leadership to conversion copy - and a clear POV on content.

Bonus: experience in People & Culture, HR tech, or employee experience content.
